Manage discomfort
It’s normal to feel mild soreness or swelling after the procedure. Over-the-counter pain relievers and cold compresses can help ease any discomfort.
Soft foods
Stick to gentle, easy-to-eat foods like soup, mashed potatoes, yoghurt, bananas, and applesauce for the first few days. Avoid anything hot, spicy, or crunchy until you’ve healed.
Maintain oral hygiene
For the first 24 hours, avoid spitting or vigorous rinsing. Swallow your saliva even if it tastes salty. After a day, rinse gently with salt water and avoid brushing directly over the extraction site for 2-3 days.
Avoid smoking
Smoking can delay healing and increase the chance of complications. Try to avoid it entirely for the first few days after the extraction.
