Gum Disease Treatment in Wibsey

All of us have bleeding gums while brushing our teeth atleast once in our lifetime.

Perhaps you have noticed persistent bad breath throughout the day, or that your gums are a little sore lately? These are just a few warning signs of gum disease, a common but serious condition that requires immediate attention. Gum disease treatment in Wibsey is an effective way to restore gum health, protect your teeth, and bring back a healthy smile—and all this pain-free!

What is gum disease?

Gum disease, also known as periodontal disease, is an infection of the gums caused by plaque, a sticky layer of bacteria that forms on your teeth. It can worsen due to diabetes, a lack of vitamin C, hormonal imbalances, and other conditions.

Gum disease progresses through two main stages:

  • Gingivitis: This is the early stage of gum disease. You will notice red, swollen gums that bleed when you brush or floss. However, this is completely reversible with minor gum treatments and strict oral care.
  • Periodontitis: This is an advanced version of gingivitis. The infection spreads to deeper structures, including the bone supporting your teeth. If left untreated, this can result in loose teeth, gum pockets, receding gums, and eventual tooth loss. Prompt gum disease treatment and maintaining good oral hygiene are a must in the long term.

Do you have gum disease?

You must visit your dentist for a gum disease treatment if you have one or a combination of these signs and symptoms. Word of caution, gum disease is a silent disease in the early stages. Thus, it’s important to detect the signs early:

Gums bleed

Gums bleed while brushing or flossing.

Red, swollen, or tender gums.

Consistent bad breath or bad taste in your mouth.

Gums recede, making teeth appear longer.

Loose teeth or changes in how your bite feels.

Pus between the teeth and gums (in advanced cases).

Who can get gum disease?

Gum disease has many contributing factors. Let’s break it down for you:

  • Poor oral hygiene: Plaque accumulates over time if you do not brush and floss regularly. When it hardens into tartar, it causes inflammation of the gums.
  • Tobacco use: Smoking or chewing tobacco significantly increases the risk of gum disease.
  • Genetic predisposition: Some people are naturally more prone to gum disease.
  • Other diseases: Diabetes, for example, increases your risk of developing gum problems.

Why treat gum disease early?

Gum disease doesn’t only impact your mouth. It has been connected to a range of wider health issues, including heart disease, diabetes, and complications during pregnancy. Addressing it early can help prevent serious health concerns and spare you from tooth loss or the need for costly, invasive treatment further down the line.

How do we treat gum disease?

Gum disease treatment for nervous patients

It can be frightening and overwhelming to treat gum disease, especially if your gums are already sensitive and bleeding. At Taylored Dental Care, we are specifically trained to make such scenarios as stress-free as possible.

  • Clear communication: We will walk you through each step of the process in simple, understandable terms. We will also show you how to take care of your gums afterwards, including what to eat and what to avoid.
  • Sedation options: If you are overly stressed and anxious, we can provide sedation to help you remain calm and relaxed throughout your visit.
  • Dental lasers: We use lasers to ensure that our procedures are painless, bloodless, and require minimal aftercare. Furthermore, recovery is faster, and results are more accurate.
  • Relaxing environment: From our friendly staff to the soothing design of our clinic, we have created a space where you will feel at ease and cared for every step of the way.

Started treatment here a good few months ago , after over 30 years of fear of the dentists which bordered on phobia . Top class treatment administered by top class people , everyone from reception through to dental nurse and Dr.Rosina Cutler . Never thought that I could ever get through the treatment , but the care taken by them all has been second to none . I would highly recommend Taylored Dental Care , especially if you might be a nervous patient. Many thanks to you all .

Where visits to the dentist are concerned I am extremely nervous. In the past this has meant I have avoided any kind of dental care which obviously isn’t good. Having seen adverts for Taylored Dental Care in Wibsey Bradford, and the promise of treating patients sympathetically, I made an appointment. I’ve been going now for a number of years and can say that I’ve had the best experience. All the staff are incredibly caring, trustworthy and listen to and manage my anxieties and concerns. Unbelievably to me, I’m in a position now where I don’t have any worries or anxiety before my appointments. My dentist is the lovely Rosina and I have also had care from Charlotte Helliwell. Both are great and all the staff (reception, assistants) are fantastic. I’m posting this in the hope that it will help someone who has the same anxiety for the dentist that I used to have. If you do, I strongly recommend that you use Taylored Dental Care.
